'Milk River' was inspired by 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' by Hieronymus Bosch and a film still from 'Saltburn' that shows a similar scene - the colour palette and the crowded imagery was something I was motivated to replicate. I was fascinated by the idea of a scene being both horrific and beautiful, so I wanted to create a painting while thinking about the sublime.
