Original artwork description:

A long time ago humans migrated into space. Their first stop was the moon. Times changed and after only a handful of men walked on the moon, humans lost the urge to migrate further. The monarch butterfly has been and still does migrate from southern Canada to central Mexico. (Quite a long trip!) It is my desire that pioneering humans continue their migration into space following the example of the monarch.
This fun, surreal image gives us eye-candy as the brilliant colors of the monarch butterfly are contrasted with the cold, monotone moonscape. The concept was born out of my fascination of space travel and the surprises that are waiting for us to explore. Great fun creating this image and a joy to look at!

Oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Signed oil painting. Edges are painted and the work may be hung straight out of the box or framed.
- standard size. If a frame is desired, this work will fit a standard open back frame. Quality inexpensive frames can be found at Dick Blick.
