Inspired by the wonderful contrast of flakey papery bark of the silver birch set against the dark skies of a snowstorm at dusk when the world turns blue. Imagine the silence here.

This is the latest work in my lovely Birchwood series and I have added some iridescent pigment to the snow line that adds a little sparkle when caught in oblique light. It's a little bit magic.

I have added a video of me painting the bark in my 'me at work' section...I hope you like it!
