I wanted to paint the energy and exchanges between people in a setting that feels almost otherworldly, with muted figures glowing softly under the night sky. There’s a certain dreamlike quality to this painting, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. The lights of the stalls shimmer, and the figures, though grounded, seem to be slipping into the fabric of the night. A reflection on human I’m a London-based artist, and my work often reflects vivid and surreal imagery inspired by my unique experience with REM intrusion—a condition where dream-like visions can appear while I’m awake. My paintings explore the boundary between waking reality and the dream world, using layered compositions to create a sense of depth and movement.
