Midday At Southwold is a realist oil painting on Canvas, 30 x 40 inches (approx 76 x 101cm).
Inspired by visits to the Suffolk coast town of Southwold, Christopher Witchall continues his preoccupation with the movement and colours of the ocean, a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.
The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.
Midday At Southwold is painted on a deep edge canvas, so there is no need for framing and can be hung immediately. It is signed on the front and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
