Original artwork description:

'Mid Summer in Old Woodland' was painted in an ancient pasture woodland in the New Forest. This woodland has its own climate and remains cool in the height of summer. The sunlight passing though the leaves gives both light and shadow. The strong browns of the woodland floor contrast with the green moss covered trunks and root of the trees. The chestnut New Forest pony balances and centres the scene.
The frame is a traditional brown gold with a light inner slip.
