In this painting I have developed my ideas on the metropolis theme. There are clearly skyscrapers and then smaller buildings in the foreground. However it is a highly abstracted and intentionally unrealistic interpretation of a modern city, intended to give a feeling of an exciting and dynamic metropolis, rather than being an accurate depiction. The use of metallic paint on some of the buildings bring an extra level of interest and in some ways it looks like it could be a city Christmas card, full of bright lights and hope.
"Metropolis Skyline" is ready to hang and would look great in a range of settings from an apartment to a period home.
