After the background was painted and allowed to dry more paint was added in several colours, using a palette knife. A silicon-tipped brush was then used to make vertical lines. This reveals the color beneath and also transfers discrete amounts of paint from one colour to another, which adds to the overall effect.
The construction is canvas stretched over a wooden frame which is not visible. It is ready to hang.
