"Metropolis 15" is part of my attempt to capture the essence of a modern metropolis in a highly abstracted form. It is a modern, contemporary artwork that would look great in a wide variety of settings. It was painted with a variety of techniques, from conventional brushwork to wiping off paint to leave a faint impression of what had been there and using silicon-tipped brushes to remove paint and reveal the colours beneath.
It was painted in January 2022, when there were only a few covid restrictions in place in England but socialising was still a rarity.
It is ready to hang
Materials used:
Acrylic paint applied with brushes. Some areas painted and then later wiped off to leave traces. Some areas of paint removed with silicon-tipped brushes.
