Original artwork description:

Metropolis 12 is part of the series "Metropolis" that explores in a highly abstracted form the relationship between humans and the cities most of them live in. I finished painting it at the start of the second wave of covid-19 in the UK, a time of great uncertainty and for many people hardship. Unlike most of the paintings in this series, Metropolis 12 is more like a bird's eye view of a city. It was painted over a period of a few years and a variety of techniques were used to apply the paint. There are areas of metallic copper and silver paint which give it an added vibrancy.

The unusually low price of this abstract is because there is a slight curve in the frame, but this is not really noticeable when it is hanging on a wall. It would suit a wide variety of settings and is ready to hang.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint brushed over canvas and allowed to dry. More paint added directly to the canvas and spread with palette knives. Paint also dribbled onto the canvas.
