Original artwork description:
Painted on-site at the MN Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN. Features an iris flower of the variety named "Meteorite". The top petals are a soft lemon yellow, whilst the bottom petals are a deep burgundy-magenta with white centers, highly ruffled edges, and bright orange "beards". The dripping and spattering effects in the unique background were created with water-based casein paint, and glazed over with oil. The background towards the top features, blue, purple, and deep green, whilst the bottom contains a brilliant orange touched with red and yellow. Painted in oil on board with both palette knife and brush. The flower petal shapes are enhanced by the texture of the paint. Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a mahogany finish. May be purchased unframed by request. A painting to energize and uplift the spirit.
