Continuing with my trend of elegant hidden words in the English language, this painting represents "change in one's way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion". In order to connect this spirituality and conversion, I wanted to drift away from my bright and street art inspired backgrounds to one that is bold.. and quiet dark... Black to be specific. The vibrance that is created with oil paints applied by knife to a black canvas is something that is simply awe inspiring. The piece was designed to grab ones eye and immerse it into a spiral of detail searching adventure. To keep true to the spirituality of my previous works , I made sure to accent the piece with copper pigment to insure that when light hits the surface it comes alive. This both gives the piece a life like charecteristic but insures that the piece is ever changing with the time of day. Along with a seed oil extract applied on the background in a street artesk style in order to give the black canvas true depth and vibrancy.
The image of the Red Jay quietly perched awaiting take off is intended to symbolize our readiness to plunge onto the path of self improvement and refinement at the blink of an eye.
