Original artwork description:

My painting “Mesmerized by Mukhomors” depicts a group of Irish youths with flaming red hair, displaying the “fire-in-the-head” effects of mukhomors. For the record, I should point out that my painting takes some artistic liberties, for example showing the youths eating fresh mushrooms. In reality, mukhomors are normally dried before consumption, as that helps convert the fruit’s Ibotenic acid into the more visionary alkaloid Muscimole. In another artistic anachronism, I included an iconic cemetery statue found on Boa Island, Northern Ireland, within a circle of standing stones found in Derbyshire, England. In the far background, I added a forest of birch trees, because Amanitas grow in a symbiotic mycorrizal relationship with birch trees and pine trees.
