We visited the medieval town of Rye whilst holidaying on the South Coast and I was fascinated by the variety of timber framed and soft red brick buildings jammed together in this ancient cobbled street. I stood in the 'coach entrance' to the hotel on the left and sketched the scene in black ink then added a watercolour wash later.
Line and Wash with Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours; Cobolt Blue, Light Red, Raw Sienna on Saunders Waterford 200lb paper.
