I was thinking of Alzheimer's disease when I painted this, the entanglement of beta-amyloid that clump together, but also the wish I felt that memories are perhaps somewhere in the universe, in the heavens, even as they are no longer accessible to an individual with this disease. I want to think of memories as existing somewhere, and acting on the idea that nothing is ever really lost, I placed my entanglement among the stars. I've embedded small pieces of glass and tiny greenish pearls into the wax with resin primary material, and embellished the edges with silver and violet metallic powdered pigment (all fused, of course, and thus archival).
