As an artist, my aim with this painting is to capture the essence of autumn, a season that often brings with it a sense of introspection and transformation. In "Melancholy by the Tree," I depict a young woman wearing a black coat, a garment I personally favor during the fall season. The vibrant yellow and orange trees in the background serve as a clear indicator that autumn has arrived, with its vibrant yet melancholic beauty.

Amidst the changing foliage, the girl's transformation is apparent. The transition from the verdant green of summer to the autumnal hues of orange and gold is mirrored in her attire. She swaps a lightweight T-shirt for a long, black coat. This change in wardrobe symbolizes the evolution of both the season and the person.
