Meistersingers - German musicians and poets of 14th – 16th century. The Meistersingers were probably not as popular, as Richard Wagner’s opera Die Meistersinger (1868) suggests. Nevertheless, their devotion to art in a troubled age and their constant efforts to keep up with religious and moral principles inspired Alexander Levich to create this fantasy world on canvas.
A technique of small brushstrokes and overlaying colours, which is typical for Alexander’s early works, creates an illusion of a three-dimensional spaces, filled with mysterious objects and shapes.
The artwork is framed in custom made wooden frame of golden-green colour. Framed size 101x101x3 cm. The artwork will be shipped securely packed in a box.
