The story of a strong woman, raped, demonized and then killed seems to be a tremendously current story, rather than an ancient myth.
In a sense, she is the projection of our fears and desires: at once a symbol of female anger and struggle and a figure transformed into a sexual symbol by patriarchal forces against which to seek revenge.
