This artwork was inspired by the beautiful seascapes of the French painter Gustave Courbet. Especially his unusual and fascinating colors of «The Mediterranean» seascape struck me when I was in Rome at an exhibition of paintings from the private collection of the famous Phillips Collection. I tried to draw it with oil pastels.
