There are not many Indigenous artists who make their name in the art industry, thus the Indigenous artwork is really rare. We are lucky to have a few of Douglas Fox artwork in our possession.

Douglas Fox is an Ojibway painter painting in the Woodland School traditions. He cites Benjiman Chi-Chi, Richard Bedwash, and Norval Morrisseau as his influences.

Douglas Fox is from the Wikwemikong Indian Reserve in the north-eastern section of Manitoulin Island in Ontario, Canada. The Woodland Style of Ojibwe native painting originated from Manitoulin Island. Its most famous member is Norval Morrisseau.

Fox’s works depict the legends of the Native people, the cultural and political tensions, deep spirituality and mysticism. He drew from Woodland School traditions to capture his own techniques and artistic vocabulary. They express ancient legends and images that came to him in visions or dreams.

Fox became a full time commission artist for worldwide native art collectors such as Proctor and Gamble, Castle Entertainment and private individual collectors.
He had exhibited as Royal Bank of Canada BCE Place, Miami Art International and other prestigious shows.
