The Medici lions are a pair of marble sculptures of lions. The sculptures depict standing male lions with a sphere or ball under one paw, looking to the side.
When I visited Florence, and, of course, I came to Piazza della Signoria, I was completely fascinated by this particular sculpture. Perhaps because of the slightly crazy expression on his face - it seemed to me that this lion is now roaring: "Hey guys, there are so many of you here, how about playing football?"
