My cats…
Cats to me are like mimes, with lots of body language. And it may be about time I express them on paper… after all, they are always sitting around, posing for me. I am mainly focusing on small paintings, black & white with colour highlights. The effect can be quite dramatic on this parchment paper.
Here I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. The paper is handmade to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges which adds to the overall textural effect. The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
Then there’s the work in progress. Then there’s a photo of the painting with one of the models, Sandy.

Please note that you can purchase up to 3 paintings of this same size or smaller in 1 order and pay only 1 shipping fee.
About framing.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
