I usually only paint from my own photos, but as soon as I saw this shot of my partner & I by my friend Kenneth Denker, I knew I wanted to paint it. I like dark planes & shafts of light with the concentration of colour on the figures, the masks in the cavernous industrial chic setting give it a certain je ne sais quoi.
