Original artwork description:

This miniature abstracted palette knife oil painting was painted en plein air (in open air on location) at a friend's back yard, overlooking a lovely Weeping Willow grove. It was painted May 4th (hence the title). The location was absolutely dreamy, with all the spring greens of the Pacific Northwest. I wanted to stay true to the overwhelming green sweep before me. I broke up the colors a bit by adding tid bits of blue, turquoise, red, and violet. I chose a to have the this little plein air painting rendered completely with a palette knife in order to convey that dream-like impressionist feel that I love so much. The figure is my friend sketching.

This beautiful original oil painting has a custom gold frame and is ready to hang. I held on to it for the summer due to its personal sentimental value. It would make a lovely gift, bringing the spring beauty of May the 4th to any space. ~Tali

Materials used:

Professional quality oil colors and medium, on olio Arches paper, and custom gold frame
