Original artwork description:

What is life? And where is life, where do we find it?

Body matter vs the soul. Usually, the latter gets a better press, but neither can exist without the other. Many of us become a little squeamish while we get to see the 'mechanics' behind life -i.e. muscles, tendons, organs in the body- but these are necessary to house the soul which, otherwise, could not manifest itself in this universe of ours. By the same token, would they not only be an empty case were no 'spark' there to bring them to life?

Body matters, then. But not just our body. Life, as we know is all pervasive and all-supporting. And perhaps less hierarchical that we might think, to the point that somewhere in time, a plant can provide matter for human transplants. A sustainable solution to the controversy of the debate over the use of stem cells. One universe, one life.

Matter Of Life features fluid brushwork, just as fluid as the everchanging ubiquitous life that animates us and everything in the universe.
