This is a pencil drawing on Arches hot press paper. I teach art to children and this is from one of our sessions making masks out of cardboard. Masks are inherently scary as they hide an identity, and as such are a fantastic horror trope but in children's play, they are also a means of becoming something other, a gateway to the imagination and other worlds. I used a stencil to erase some of the darkness behind the figure to bring the idea of nature into play.
