Oil on linen 20x28x2cm (7.9x11x0.8in) 2013 SOLD, private collection, Vigevano, IT.
I Painted this portrait of Marylin in 2013 as part of a series of studies on face portraiture. To create this painting I started from a black and white picture and added the colours at my discretion. The result is a very bright portrait which let the sensuality of Marylin stand out. The colours of the face are very pale and watercolour style while the hair have the typical Marylin’s blond style. I painted the background in grey and violet to make the face stand out.
The portrait is stretched on a canvas and painted on linen cloth, together with other studies of faces. This is part of my private collection and I keep it as a reminder of the steps I made to become a professional painter.
