Original artwork description:

This artwork belongs to a series called "Natural Flags", which are landscapes inspired by the work of landscapers, they can also be from trips I have made, or by photographs of places I have seen in magazines, on the internet, reading, listening to music. ..
This flag or landscape of more or less abstract shapes has a white background because it represents a sunrise.

The artwork shows us a maritime scene although it does not have to be related to water. In it we see a boat with a sail or spinnaker that looks like a woman's head, while on the land side there is a kind of Rapa Nui-style stone head, but it looks like a sail because it has a flame on top. Perhaps the candle-woman is blowing out that candle, perhaps to put it out or to fan its flame. Behind this totemic head, which seems to be that of a man made of dark stone, there is another smaller head, like a woman's, which perhaps reminds us of death, as Tim Buckley's song “Song to the siren” tells.

No frame needed, but recommended.

Materials used:

Acrylic
