Inspired by the evening sun shining on Marsco a mountain in the lesser known red Cuillin of Skye, near Sligachan Scotland. In this atmospheric semi abstract impressionist Scottish landscape painting I have tried to convey the atmosphere of the setting sun shining on the slopes of the hill, and intensifying the red colour which gives its name to these hills, with the Sligachan river in the foreground.
Painted with a palette knife and fingers, using quality artists acrylics on a square format 15" x 15" (38 x 38cm) lightly textured canvas on board, framed in a white limewash frame, with cord ready to hang.
