I’ve been lucky to have travelled to many parts of the world and captured many of these places photographically but also as vivid memories.
This image is a combination of both memory and snaps collected over the years. Remembering markets from North Africa to the Far East, the smells of spices, the heat of the mid morning sun and the stalls filled with everything from food to housewares. I’ve tried to capture this very excitement of walking through a pocket of life in distant countries at a time long ago and the excitement I felt.
This is a multi-layered linocut print. Please be aware that as these are handmade and been through significant pressing to achieve the many layers of colour that there are creases and faint marks around the borders of the image as well as textural differences in every print.
