Painted on-site at the Trial Gardens of Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, WI. Features a close-up view of a cluster of iris flowers of the variety named "Mariposa Wizard". These flowers feature top petals in shades of lavender and white, contrasted by bottom petals in shades of magenta and dark purple. This painting captures the full, highly ruffled nature of the petals, and mimics the natural sparkle of the petals through the use of iridescent paint. The background contains bright spring green, dark green and indigo blue with textured brushstrokes to both complement and contrast with the flowers petals.
