A monochrome painting from an old photograph . The date taken as 1840 and found in the library in The History of Thanet. No motor vehicles of any type to be seen. They were soon to come. I spend a great deal of my time trawling secondhand bookshops searching for early photographs of the coastal towns of Thanet, Sometimes I get lucky!
