Artwork description:

This is a semi-abstract piece showing a marina scene. Wavy and geometric buildings are scattered about and in the foreground to the left hand side a couple of sailing boats or yachts are floating on the water. The work is inspired by the marina in my home city of Sunderland and the yacht club there. Markings you see around the composition, particularly in the top right area are simply from the grain of the etching plate and are very natural to this type of medium. It helps give the work it's unique character I feel.

This is an original etching pulled from a zinc plate and printed on beautiful somerset printmaking paper. Only a very small number of these have been produced.

It is a very rare artist's proof. (An artist's proof can be defined both as a print taken during progress of the work for the artist's benefit and it can often be a small edition of the work the artist has kept aside as his/her best versions of the print).

Your print will come wrapped in protective tissue paper to reach you in the best condition.

If you have any questions relating to the work before purchase please don't hesitate to ask me.

Materials used:

zinc plate, intaglio printing ink, paper
