Hyper-realistic graphite pencil portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Like the multitudes, I have adored the charm, softness, and glowing beauty of Ms. Monroe. Therein stems my inspiration regarding this one-of-a-kind work of art. Entirely unplanned, as I progressed through this piece, I marveled at the smoky-jazz-club tonal quality and grew in my ambition toward a buffed, subdued appearance.
With this particular portrait, I discover working in life-like dimensions lends well to overall culmination and workability regarding utensils used. Prior, I worked strictly on 9X12 substrate.
I revel in the subdued compilation of graphite tones...and the softness which was purely "Norma Jeane."

Graphite pencils (0.5mm mechanical pencil, 5H, 4H, 2H, HB, 4B, 6B, 8B), cotton balls, Q-tips, blending stumps, kneaded eraser
