Maria da Fonte was a Portuguese heroin.◾The “Revolution of Maria da Fonte” – is the name given to a popular revolt in 1846 against the government of Portugal. The instigator of the initial riots was a woman called Maria (nickname Maria da Fonte) – As the initial phase of the insurrectionary movement had a strong female component, the revolt ended up being known by that name.; all women have been the Maria da Fonte who gave her name to a popular uprising led by women, many women and not by one, hundreds of women with scythes, pikes and rebuke.
◾The revolt then spread to the rest of the country and caused the substitution of government.
