Original artwork description:

I wanted to draw the spoonbill as part of my bird repertoire as their faces are so vulnerable and distinctive.

I am very happy with the bird's expression, I feel like I have managed to convey her character, even though the style is quite loose. I want the viewer to be able to see into her soul in this honest portrait.

I also wanted to draw the roseate spoonbill because the colour is so beautiful and it feels great to be painting in pink!
