Original artwork description:

This drawing in charcoal explores the many voices from those in our lives that add to our identity. Through layering many versions of the same person, this drawing explores the various voices we can detect when we speak and think.

When you sit and contemplate, think about who you are and what makes up your identity. We can hear the voice and words of someone else. Each of us grow with various personalities, each distinct in themselves. Our Parents; Our friends; Our Grandparents etc...

As we grow older we begin to find our own voice, unaware of the epigenetic traits passed on through DNA - bringing various mannerisms and personality traits attributed to those of our ancestral past.

The next time you speak and comment, think about who's voice or words you speak.
