Original artwork description:

An afternoon of freedom to explore Manchester and I head out in search of architectural inspiration. I am struck by a Victorian street corner, and gaze at the texture and colour of the brick, soaked in darkness and soot from a thousand Satanic chimneys and sulphurous train engines. Now it is cheerful, chic, a boutique hotel, smart eateries. Behind, towers a post-war block of flats. I wanted to capture light and shadow, to catch the sun on windows, an early hint of gathering dusk. A great souvenir of Manchester and a perfect item to collect.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
