'Man in a box' is a reworking of a painting that I did as a young man. The piece handles the repetition of a daily daily routine. A force that can easily wash over us all, but has it's own unusual gravity.
The viewer takes a nosey at a deeply private moment in a man's life. He is lost in his thoughts, apparently not enganging in his environment. A cold light spills into the room from the winter suburban landscape outside. A television blares behind him. The singer captured on the screen seemingly singing a soundtrack to the man's life.
