Original artwork description:

Whilst walking on Putney common in London this summer, I noticed a man asleep on a bench and as I always carry a small pad with me, I managed to make a sketch of him. I particularly liked the way the folds hung as a result of how he had flopped on to the seat in this rural setting. From this sketch I first produced a painting, oil on board and this led to the semi construction painting seen here. Also included are photographs of the piece during construction and one primed ready for painting.

Materials used:

Combination of MDF, hardboard and glue, primed in gesso and finished in oil paint
