Original artwork description:

This quick study of mallows at night is an attempt to capture an impression of beauty that is all the more precious because of its transience. The canvas is dominated by a deep, enveloping black, a void that seems to consume everything in its path. Yet, from this darkness, the fragile blooms of flowers emerge. The mallows, rendered in bold, expressive strokes, are not meticulously detailed. Instead, they are impressions, bursts of color against the oppressing darkness. The red of the petals, rich and velvety, pulsates against the somber backdrop, while the green stems, twisting and turning, reach out from the darkness, seeking light.

The painting is a testament to the poignant beauty of things that are destined to fade.
