Modern contemporary impressionism.

Impressionistic pastel painting of Malham Cove, Yorkshire Dales glimpsed through an old tree on the riverbank. The painting was completed in my study from photographs and sketches taken last year on location at Malham, and captures the sharp shadow contrasts of a very hot sunny day in April before the trees have their leaves.
Malham Cove recently featured in the Harry Potter film 'The Deathly Hallows'.

Signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
