Birds! Besides being one of my favourite subjects to paint, they are also perfect subjects to be captured with the palette knife. The huge variety in feathers interests me and challenges me to use the knife in every way possible. There are very small and fine feathers that have to be captured in detail and much bigger feathers that I have rendered in loose broad strokes with the knife.
