A recent watercolor portrait of a majestic African Elephant, painted quite expressively; with fine mist of color spatter used to create texture of the leathery skin.The colors used are mostly earthy,with tones of violet to create contrast.Though I have painted elephants many,many times,I still find them irresistible as subjects for my animal portraits. I try to depict the grandeur and magnificence of these animals in colors which are not there at all when you look at the real ones- but still manage to convey the sense of energy and vigor; besides making the artwork look even more interesting.
The artwork is Unframed and will ship rolled up in a sturdy postal tube.
