Original artwork description:

colour sumi inks on rice paper, 16.5 x 21.5 in., 43 x 55 cm
This one dates back, way back to a travel I did in India … with my complete painting gear, the largish sized paper, ink sticks and wet stones, et all. My paintings in that period were done on location, without preliminary sketches nor any working lines on the paper. This is paint applied directly on a blank page. I have often thought to redo some of the pieces from that period. Instead I look again at this sketchy watercolour item I find the humour captured here is special and unique in this scene of a chaotic main boulevard. The rice paper is a fine parchment, the paint looks as fresh today as when I first did this painting 30 years ago.
The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the photo shoot.
