Mahogany .2024

Surreal portrait of a woman with Flower and Golden clay pot detail.
Deep brown, Dragon eye Red and Ochre hues.
This work represents semi-self-portrait in imaginary settings.
Inspired by my own childhood memories in the wilderness.
This is a special tribute to the giant Mahogany tree near the water hole where my grandmother used to fetch water.

Process: Creative expression through medium manipulation and
idea generation from personal stories are the approaches of realising this piece.
Beautiful complimentary colour display with patiently rendered rhythmic flow patterns of my signature stripes.

* Deeply expressive facial features and body movements in my works are highly influenced by my cultural heritage and decades long figure studies of historical frescoes and murals in spiritual locations from my birth country.
