Original artwork description:

Magnolia x Soulangeana painted over ’2nd of April Blue’ in Kew Gardens, London, UK.

I have mixed pigments with Gum Arabic and Honey to make my own paint. ‘2nd of April Blue’ is made from these pigments: Cerulean Blue for Spring optimism; Genuine Indigo for complexity of the changing weather; Cobalt Violet Dark and Terre Verte as it is the season of bird song, blossom and new shoots.

This banner has the atmosphere of a dreamy Spring day, one of those days to sit in the sun with eyes half open.

The banner is suspended from a simple batten and clear thread which can be removed on request if an alternative method of display is desired.

Materials used:

Handmade Seichosen paper from Japan
