I have been looking at the different stages of spring - early spring, mid-spring and late spring. I did a series on spring last year. It's the most fascinating season to observe the birth of life. There's a full spectrum of colours; from the buds that form in the early spring to the colourful blossoms that fleetingly emerge. I try to capture as many stages as I can.

This piece is Magnolia in early spring against a blue summer sky, with the flower buds that are taking shape. Also available as a limited edition print.
