This work is part of a series inspired by the flora and fauna in our garden. From the beautiful Tui birds that delight in the Cherry Blossoms in early Spring, to the shades of green that frame the banks of the mighty Waikato River in Winter, and the colourful Hydrangeas and Lillies that bloom in Summer.

The Magnolia tree is a stunning and elegant tree that lines many a driveway and backyard in the Waikato area of New Zealand, including ours. I particularly love it's large elegant flower that slowly unfolds to a large bloom. The flower's beauty is temporary as it blooms only briefly, but magnificent when it does.

I particularly love nature’s curves, beauty, and mystery, all of which I try to capture in my work.
