Along with 'Monday With You' and 'The Suncarrier', this painting forms part of the alchemy series. 'Magnitude' focuses on timelessness, a room quietly and slowly disappears becoming more translucent with time, the landscape is visible through the glassy walls. Gold drips on the walls and shiny cutlery leans against them, sparkling in the darkness along with different types of shells. To me, the shells symbolise communicating with a different place, following the theme of not knowing when or where the scene is set.
